Final Part 2 and 3

Part 2:
This man was in his car driving when someone out of no where shoots him.
They shot him three times as we can tell threw the mirror.
There is a marathon going on when this man gets on fire. He is in pain because fire is hot
and we can also tell by his face expressions.
The rhino was in danger so they took him to a better place where he can live. Their using a helicopter because rhinos weigh a lot and people can't pick them up.
Part 3:
This photo is framing because its more focused on the person which draws your eye naturally to her. You can also see the light in the back which makes you see her face more clearly. The rain pops out less then her because the rain is everywhere and she is just the only person there.
This photo is leading lines because on the track you see the line that separates the racers. The line keeps on going because the track is in a circle. When we look at a photo our eye is naturally drawn along lines because the track is brown and the lines are white.
This photo is rule of thirds because the photo only concentrates on the soldier. The background is blurred out but the soldier isn't so he pops out. This photo only wants to show the soldier so they put him on the side.

Self Portrait

I like this picture because she's happy at what she does and i picked it because it only concentrates on her.
I like how the horse looks and I choose this one because they look like their
enjoying feeding the horse.
I like how his hair is and i choose it because of the lighting.
I like how the background is and i picked it because the lighting was good.
I like her eyes their cute and i picked it because this picture is just adorable.
I like how his eyes pop out and i picked it because it look good with
the black and white effect.
I like how her eyes look and i picked it because i like how it all looks together.
I like how she has the paper and it actually looks like her eyes and i picked it because
i like how it came out.

  2. what suggestion did the author make about using a low ISO? that when there is plenty of light, you should always use the lowest ISO, to retain the most detail and to have the highest image quality.

  3. what suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO? that you should increase the ISO when there is not enough light for the camera to be able to quickly capture an image.F4

Great Black and White Photographers Part 3

Using Black and White Photographers Part 1
1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them?
What first caught my attention is that they all wanted to represent something with their photos.

Using Black and White Photographers Part 2
I see a kid sad and sitting on the porch.
I smell sadness.
I hear the wind outside.
I taste nothing.
I feel sad for the kid.

My Room 10/28

My room is the biggest room in the house.
Its the furthest away from everyone else in the house.
I have a couch in my room so when people go over they can sleep there.

elements of art/principles of design

Line :
Picture   Lines are marks made by a pointed tool: brush, pencil, pen, etc. Lines can vary in width, direction, curvature, length, or color.
                               Shape :
Shapes are formed wherever the ends of a continuous line meet. Geometric shapes such as circles, triangles or squares have perfect, uniform measurements and don't often appear in nature. Organic shapes are associated with things from the natural world, like plants and animals.
       Color :
Color wheels show the primary colors, secondary colors, and the tertiary (intermediate) colors. They also show the relationships between complementary colors across from each other, such as blue and orange; and analogous (similar or related) colors next to each other such as yellow, green, and blue. Black and white may be thought of as colors but, in fact, they are not. White light is the presence of all color; black is the absence of reflected light and therefore the absence of color.
                                                       Value :
Value, or tone, refers to dark and light; the value scale refers to black and white with all gradations of gray in between.  Value contrasts help us to see and understand a two-dimensional work of art.
           Form :
Form describes objects that are three-dimensional, having length, width, and height.
Picture                Texture :
Texture can be rough, bumpy, slick, scratchy, smooth, silky, soft, prickly--the list is endless.  Texture refers to the surface quality, both simulated and actual, of artwork.

                                                      Space :
Space refers to distances or areas around, between, or within components of a piece. Space can be positive (white or light) or  negative (black or dark), open or closed, shallow or deep, and two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
LEARNING ART : THE PRINCIPLES OF DESING
 Balance :
Picture
Balance is the comfortable or pleasing arrangement of things in art.  There are three different types of balance: symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial. The human figure is symmetrically balanced; the same on the left and right side. The tree is asymmetrically balanced; its branches are not distributed equally on each side, but their total weight is balanced left and right. The sun is an example of radial balance; all its rays are equal in length from the center.
Contrast :
Contrast is created by using elements that conflict with one another. Often, contrast is created using complementary colors or extremely light and dark values. Contrast creates interest in a piece and often draws the eye to certain areas. It is used to make a painting look interesting.
Emphasis :
Emphasis in the focal area of an artwork gives it importance.  An artist may stress some elements of the design over others. The eye of the viewer will focus on the area of emphasis or center of interest first, then take in the rest of the composition.
Movement :
Picture  Movement in an artwork means the artist is taking viewers on a trip through the work by means of lines, edges, shapes, and colors often leading to the focal area.  Movement is a visual flow through the composition. It can be the suggestion of motion in a design as you move from object to object by way of placement and position.  Directional movement can be created with a value pattern. It is with the placement of dark and light areas that you can move your attention through the format.
PicturePattern :
Patterns are made in art when the same shapes or elements are repeated again and again.  Pattern uses the elements of art in planned or random repetitions to enhance surfaces of paintings or sculptures.
Rhythm ;
Rhythm is the repetition of shapes, lines, and forms.  Rhythm is a movement in which some elements recurs regularly.  Like a dance, it will have a flow of objects that will seem to be like the beat of music.
 Unity :
Picture
Unity means that all elements in an artwork are in harmony.  Unity brings together a composition with similar units.  For example, if your composition was using wavy lines and organic shapes you would stay with those types of lines and not put in even one geometric shape.

This is a picture that i like , and think it has the elements of art in it.

this picture has lines , colors, shapes etc thats why
i think its a perfect picture for Elements of Art.

Mural Project Preview

1. I would do a mural about people at Akins learning, dancing, drawing and doing stuff they like to do when their in school.

2. It would be worth the effort because this mural will represent all the activities
students do around Akins.

3. Some advantages are that some phone cameras are already updated to take pictures like the photography cameras but not all phones have that.

4. The advantages are that the pictures will come out better then phone cameras. Theres no disadvantages on using a SLR camera.

5. We should use SLR cameras cause they would look better then phone cameras.

Africa

Nick Brandt

He uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses.
He wanted to take these pictures because it was while directing "Earth Song", a music video for Jackson in Tanzania, in 1995 that Brandt fell in love with the animals and land of East Africa. Over the next few years, frustrated that he could not capture on film his feelings about and love for animals, he realized there was a way to achieve this through photography, in a way that he felt no-one had really done before. He is interested in is showing the animals simply in the state of Being.
I like this picture because i like how it looks and everything.

Academic Shoot Reflection

1. It was hard finding some of the rules. I couldn't find some but i ended up figuring it out.
2. I concentrated more on making sure the photos came out good and didn't come out blurry.
3. I would make sure the rules are more clearly stated on the photo.
4. I would go to the same places i went to because the places i went showed most of the rules.
5. The easiest rule to achieve will be lines.
6. It will be harder to find framing and rule of thirds.
7. Im still kinda confused about what framing means but i could figure it out if i go back and learn what framing means again.

Academics Photo Shoot Preview

Best Story; This is showing a group of guys holding hands and i think their praying.
Best Action/Emotion; This photo shows motion with the experiment of theirs.

Fills the frame with the most interesting stuff; It shows young kids giving food to elders.

I picked this photo because it shows a guy holding a
piece of ice that is on fire.

This picture represents simplicity because it just concentrates
on the guy and nothing else.
